OYIS Preschool class went on their first field trip this week! Their UOI is “Who We Are” and they have been learning about relationships that they have with people from home, school, and in society. To demonstrate this connection with society, preschool class went to Kosaka YMCA Senior Center. The students were provided with the opportunity to sing songs and play games with the elderly people of our community. The children brought smiles and laughter to the seniors’ faces. Although there was a difference in age, everyone enjoyed playing together. The preschool students taught the seniors two games and the seniors demonstrated how to do origami. It was a great way for the students to build meaningful relationships and allowed them to make a positive impact on their community. It was a moving experience for everyone.
