KA Abeno Harukasu
KA had a dynamic day exploring the Tennoji area, with all the magical modern things it offers. Our Transdisciplinary theme for the “How We Express Ourselves” UOI is about extending and enjoying our creativity, and appreciating the aesthetic, so we combined these elements for a 27th floor art experience in Abeno Harukas.
Starting from the green lawn area of Tenshiba, where we ran freely and played tag, we proceeded to the 16th floor viewing area of Harukas to gain perspective of our location from school. We ate lunch at another superb rooftop location where KA naturally had fun playing Hide and Seek. Once arriving at the Children’s Sky Museum, we had a lesson with paper clay manipulation, then the incredible window art play. Creating imaginative artwork with attachable plastic cutouts on full length windows 27 floors up was indeed a highlight of the day.
Playing with lightbox patterning was also a delightful way to combine colours and shapes. Creating art in new environments with original materials was a very sensory and imaginative experience for KA. We had a super day of feeling new things.
