Kindergarten B class had a field trip to see the old Japanese houses at Hattori Ryokuchi Park. They had a fun-filled and informative day.

The students were surprised to learn that the houses had no electricity or heating and that all cooking was done over a fire.

They were so happy to talk to the kind volunteers who let them sit around the fire and get warm.

After looking at all the houses, the children enjoyed picking up acorns, pretty coloured leaves and pine cones which we are using back at school.

Just before returning home, the children had fun doing forward rolls down the hill.
