Yoko is the Admissions Director for Osaka YMCA International School. She loves traveling abroad to explore different cultures. Her favorite Marvel character is Loki. She is a cake-aholic and a shopaholic!
~ 月曜日から金曜日までの本課程へようこそ ~
本校の本課程（全日制）では日本の学期とは異なり、カナダやアメリカ等と同じ９月が新学期となります。
本校ではIB（国際バカロレア）認定校であり、３歳から１８歳までのお子様をお預かりしています。
プログラムはPYP（プライマリーイヤープログラム、PreschoolからGrade6）MYP（ミドルイヤープログラム、Grade 7から10）DP（ディプロマプログラムGrade11から12）の３つに分かれております。
また、WASC(米国西部地域私立学校大学協会)の認証を受けている教育機関であり、このWASCの認定のためには、教育レベルの高い学校であることが求められ、学校訪問調査・書類確認・関係者の面接などを全てクリアしております。
日本国内においてはJCIS（日本インターナショナルスクール評議会）にも加盟しておりJCISはインターナショナルスクールの代表と日本政府にも認識されています。
本校では常に多国籍な風景が見られます。
学校では日本語の授業を除き（Grade 1から日本語の授業は始まります）現在、全てのオペレーションは英語で行われており、学校からのお知らせ等、先生と保護者の方の全てのコミュニケーションももちろん英語になります。
おおよそ３０か国からのご家族がおられるので、英語が共通言語になります。
多種多様なスクールコミュニティーにおいて、お互いの文化や習慣を尊重しあうことが自然に形成されており、もちろんこの中にもホスト国の日本人の方も在籍されています。
ご家族のお仕事の都合で海外のインターナショナルスクールもしくは現地校で学んできた日本人の生徒たちも多く在籍しており、彼らは国際的感覚を身につけたとても大事な存在です。
日本人のご家族でも入学はできますかという質問を受けますが、答えはYESです。
他国の文化を尊重し、国際的な視点を持たれる方、または日本の義務教育とは異なる学習を受け入れてくださるご家族は是非本校の本課程のドアを叩いてみてください。
その際にご家族の英語力がちょっと心配と敬遠される方が沢山おられるのも事実ですが、
一生懸命伝えようとする努力、お子様と一緒に生涯学習していただける心構えがあればぜひとも躊躇せずに前進してください。
