Stay engaged during the summer break!
At OYIS External Programs, our summer Intensive Programs have a cross-disciplinary focused approach which is worked into all parts of each day. Each of the weeks is a stand alone program that caters for students aged between Preschool and Grade 6. A fun, theme-based curriculum [which changes for each program] is used to engage the children collaboratively with their peers in a range of tasks. The approach we have taken lends itself to an enjoyable atmosphere with less of an emphasis on the academic elements of learning. Our multi-national fluent English speaking staff create an English immersive environment in all our classes that focuses on the provision of language over the course of the day strengthening their conversation and communication skills.
As the OYIS External Programs continues to grow, we will be offering a range of Programs for different audiences and ages over June, July and August 2021. On offer are 5 different sessions. Our unique Music Programs, designed by OYIS’ own Mr Jocic, have been tailored to the needs of our OYIS students and other International school students, in two separate groups, one for Grades 7 to 9 and one for Grades 1 to 6. Also on offer and also designed by one of our OYIS teachers, a new program that focuses on the elements of Drawing has been created. From developing their own avatars, to using various locations both inside and outside the school grounds for landscape and still life drawings, this program is suitable for OYIS students and other International school students. We have also decided to run our successful Robotics again over Summer but this time, we have adjusted it to make it open to students from Grade 5 to 9 with English no longer being a requirement. Using the LEGOⓇ MindstormsⓇ, the students will work up to showing their work on the final day.
Our regular Intensives continue to be a staple of what is on offer, with the Summer blockbuster themes of Dinosaurs, Pirates and Space. Accepting students between the ages of 3 to 12, the primary focus (aside from fun) is to have the students engage in hands-on learning experiences. Students who are engaged learn better and more effectively. It has also been proven that it is more likely to lead to increased retention of knowledge.

OYIS External(外部)プログラムの2021年度のサマープログラムは、毎日のすべての部分において、楽しみながら学ぶことに焦点を当てたアプローチを展開しています。プレスクール（年少）から6年生までの生徒を対象とした各期個別のプログラムです。プログラムごとに異なるテーマに基づいた楽しめるカリキュラムを使用し、子どもたちはさまざまな課題を仲間と協力しながら取り組みます。私たちが採用したアプローチは、学術的要素にのみ集中せず、子どもたちが楽しむことに重きをおいています。私たちの流暢な英語を話す多国籍スタッフは、すべてのクラスで子どもたちがその英語環境に没頭して1日を過ごせるよう、会話とコミュニケーションスキルを強化することに最大限尽力します。
OYIS External(外部)プログラムが大きく成長し続けていることに伴い、2021年6月、7月、8月にはさまざまな年齢向けの多様なサマープログラムを提供します。5つの異なるセッションが提供されます。 OYIS本課の音楽プログラムの教員であるJocic氏は、OYIS生と他のインターナショナルスクール生のニーズに合わせて、7年生から9年生と、1年生から6年生の2つのグループに分けてプログラムを開講予定です。また、OYIS本課の教員一人によって、ドローイング（描画）の要素に焦点を当てた新しいプログラムが計画されました。独自のアバターを作成することから、校庭・校舎の内外のさまざまな場所を風景や静物画のプロジェクトに取り組みます。このプログラムはOYIS本課生や他のインターナショナルスクールの生徒が対象です。また、春に成功したロボティクスのコースも再度開講することも決定しました。今回は、英語学習経験を問わず5年生から9年生までの生徒が参加できるように調整しました。レゴⓇマインドストームⓇを使って、生徒たちは最終日に自分の作品を見せるために課題に取り組みます。
私たちの定番の短期プログラムは、恐竜、海賊、宇宙という、子どもたちに大人気のテーマで開講します。 3歳（年少学年）から12歳（小学6年生）までのお子さまが対象で、実践的な学習体験をさせることを目的としており、参加する生徒たちはより多く、そしてより効果的に学びます。また、こうして経験を通して学んだ内容は、知識の保持を高める可能性が高いことも証明されています。
