OYIS has hosted its first ever SAT exams
Students from Osaka YMCA International School (OYIS) and other schools in the area took the Scholastic Assessment Tests (SAT) on Saturday October 1.
This is the first time OYIS has held the SAT, which is used by students to help them apply to universities in the USA and around the world. Saturday’s session went well and students were supervised by several OYIS teachers. OYIS is the only school in Osaka City to be authorized to offer the SAT.
The SAT, which is run by the College Board in the US, gives colleges information about a candidate’s academic levels. As well as the SAT, colleges look closely at students’ letters of recommendation and what else they have achieved during their school life. OYIS, which has campuses in Nakatsu and Tosabori, helps students with this as it has a dedicated college counselor and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
OYIS has just launched the IB Diploma and its Grade 12 students will be the first to graduate later this year. The SAT is available to OYIS students and students from other schools who are about to apply to universities.
The next SAT will take place on Saturday December 3. For more information, email [email protected]
